The story takes place before Peeta comes home to district twelve after the rebellion in mockingjay. The story is an extended and a much more detailed epilogue of mockingjay. I hope you'll like it:)

I looked to the right of me, to my older brother, Rye. He was older than I was, and even though I knew he wouldn't, I wish he had volunteered for me as Katniss did for Prim. I was not as young as she was, but isn't an older brother or sister's job to protect? Clearly not. As I took my place next to Katniss, I was met with a cold, hard stare, that's right. She hated me, for reasons that were never clarified. I've never been anything but polite, kind, I thought she was the most beautiful girl in our district, no, the most beautiful girl in Panem. Prettier than women of the Capitol, Katniss was a rare natural beauty, with long streaming brown hair, folded nicely into a single braid. Her hand shook mine, hard, distant and as I cracked a small smile, it was not returned, just met with a glare. These next few weeks will be Character Building, that's for sure.

This is a EVERLARK fan fiction of how I see the two star cross lover coming back together. This story begins when Peeta returns to District 12(so before epilogue but after Mockingjay). Katniss is trying to deal with all her losses and is trying to move past them best she can, while Peeta is still trying to manage his episodes from the hijacking. (Has a similar reunion to the Mockingjay Part 2's) Will Peeta and Katniss ever return to each other? Can Peeta get past his nightmares and episodes, and find the love he's always had for Katniss? Will Peeta help Katniss deal with her survivor guilt or possibly make it worse? Will Katniss ever find the words to explain her feelings or will her fears shut her down? Again this is how I would see Katniss's and Peeta's future. I've read a lot of other stories and they helped me picture my own opinion :)

Katniss can't seem to get out of the house, peeta tries to help

In the aftermath of the rebellion, Katniss and Peeta come home and begin to rekindle their love. Many obstacles lie in their path but as long as they have each other, nothing can bring them down. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so they say.

Over the course if the Mockingjay Games, we follow the story of Rye Spirce, the courageous young girl from the merchant section of Section M. But what about Cole? The Blue Jay, the Boy on Fire, and her deepest love. Over the course of the series, Cole has been apart of raging revolution, but still trying to keep himself contained and alive. Fighting for his life, and protecting the lives of the people he loves. Here's a series of missing scenes from throughout the series in which followed Cole's endeavours fighting for his life.

An extended epilogue to Mockingjay. Katniss has finally admitted her true love for Peeta and has sealed this confession by moving in with him. At first, the transition is smooth and effortless. Though, as the memories slowly return, how will Katniss handle it? Also, how will Peeta deal with his moments of fighting terror from the capitals hijacking? Unlike many fan fictions of this epilogue, I will not write a perfect love story for Peeta and Katniss where they find themselves engaged and their only problem in the world is planning a wedding. No, just like the books, I can only imagine their love continuing to grow but hit it's rough patches as well. My goal is to make this story genuine and realistic and true to the original books as I can. Especially to not dismiss the facts that they both lost everyone they love, but each other.
