Aster Undersee had it all, or at least as her dad, being the mayor of district twelve, could give her.
She wasn't poor or starved as much as the other kids and adults were in district twelve. She had an easy life.
That was July 4th rolled around, much like it does every year.
The annual reaping day for the Hunger Games, her name is only in it four times so the chances of her being picked were next to nothing, but when her bestfriends little sister prim is picked for her first year of being able to reaped, she knows what to do.
She has to volunteer.
And now, with the games only four days away, she accepts her televised and most definitely brutal death until she meets this years careers who reveal all of her potential, and district twos boy takes a strange liking to her.
And now the 74th annual hunger games have begun, and aster is in an unfamiliar place, being one out of twenty-four teenagers who are all fighting to be able to go home, just as she is.
Are the odds really in her favour, much like Effie says?
I don't own any of the rights of the Hunger Games franchise. It all belongs to Suzanne Collins. The only thing I own of this book is the character Aster Undersee
