My heart pounds as I race toward the frothing, bloodstained water. I have to get away. I hear pounding footsteps behind me, but I don't dare look back. I just keep running towards the beach. Someone darts in front of me and splashes into the water. I stumble, tripping over my feet to stop my momentum so I don't run them over. They fall, and something I can't see drags them away.
