His eyebrows raise at that, he'd heard of her family. God, practically everyone in Panem had heard of her family. Because every time a Blessing child had volunteered for the Hunger Games, they didn't just win - they entertained.

My heart pounds as I race toward the frothing, bloodstained water. I have to get away. I hear pounding footsteps behind me, but I don't dare look back. I just keep running towards the beach. Someone darts in front of me and splashes into the water. I stumble, tripping over my feet to stop my momentum so I don't run them over. They fall, and something I can't see drags them away. Thick, sticky blood splatters onto my face and arms. There's monsters in the water. There's monsters everywhere. This is a Hunger Games Fanfic with Katniss as a mentor.
