What If Katniss got taken by the capital instead of Peeta? This is a fanfic that takes place during the third book of The Hunger Games when the 75th hunger games has just ended and district twelve no longer exists. But, instead of Peeta being taken by the capital it is Katniss, and Peeta is left to stay at district 13. If you haven't read the hunger games trilogy or at least watched the movies, then you will be extremely confused. DISCLAIMER: This isn't my original idea!! After the grueling Victory Tour and word of uprisings across Panem, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark find themselves back in the one place they never wanted to be: the Capitol. But this time, they aren't the ones in the arena. With the special twist of the Quarter Quell delayed by the Capitol for a year, Katniss and Peeta must mentor two new tributes for a standard Hunger Games. But the districts are restless and with President Snow's looming threat to kill her family, Katniss must decide how she wants to save her tributes from the very Games she just escaped. To top that off, Gales back and he wants katniss. But she does not love him back. How does she tell him without losing her best friend? PEETA X KATNISS

She slowly forms a relationship with Katniss's sister, Prim, but they both know it can't last. One - or both - of their siblings has to die. Everyday guilt eats away at him. guilt of the people he couldn't save. Of people he thinks he killed. Guilt of precious friendships he's broken. He's run away from his past, which is the only thing that keeps him going. But one day it comes and knocks on his door and he's forced to redeem it as much as he can. this is the story of his downward spiral, redemption and attempts to fix his mistakes. AUTHOR'S NOTE: pretty much all of this story is from Gale's perspective. and it doesn't have a Gale x Katniss relationship, just friendship. I think that the end of Gale's story was unfulfilling. Also, my version of Gale in this book is depressed and kinda has ptsd. and lastly it gets pretty dark so you've been warned.
