Penny has finally come back to London with her fiancé, Micah. When she goes to visit her friends Simon and Baz, she can't help noticing that Simon looks somehow, older, whereas Baz hasn't aged a day. Brielle Taylor is the 'next Simon Snow.' At least, that's everyone at Watford calls her. She's extremely powerful, but unlike Simon, she always has her magic under control. Except for when Everly Johnson, her nemesis, pushes her around. She's the only person that can get under her skin, and Brielle hates it more than anything. When students start to go missing, Brielle must find out what's going on. But, that would mean becoming a hero. That would mean becoming the next Simon Snow.

Although everything about him practically screams otherwise, Simon Snow is nothing if not Normal. He's attending university, works part-time, shares a flat with his best friend, etc. There are plenty of reasons too numerous to list as to why Simon isn't as mundane as someone might think upon first glance but why don't we start off with the fact that he has an (unwanted) archnemesis.

"Because..." I look back up, look into his eyes and try to tell him everything I can't say out loud. "No one can see us in here." I'm so tired of fighting you. "And no one will ever believe you," I add, and I'm only have joking. He scoffs. I just want to love you.

THESE ARE NOT MY CHARACTERS, THEY ARE RAINBOW ROWELL'S SOME CARRY ON SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ CARRY ON OR WAYWARD SON BUT WISH TO YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T READ THIS (It's set sometime after Wayward Son, but it doesn't follow the exact story. The only part that ever really happens from Wayward Son is their voyage to America. Simon never lost his magic in Carry On.) Simon loves Baz. Baz loves Simon. Obviously. But what's this?? They have a daughter?? And then Baz gets amnesia. (Terrible summary, I know, but a guaranteed happy ending and an adopted daughter--because of course Simon would want to adopt someone, and of course Baz would be the best with children. These are indisputable facts.)

It's Simon and Baz's 6th year back at Watford. Last year Simon followed Baz around like a hound trying to prove he was a vampire. After a bloody incident one soccer training Simon finally has proof. How will Simon's knowledge of Baz's true identity bring them together?

Baz dropped his head onto the edge of Simon's bed, next to Simon's limp hand. "I'd take all of your stupidity if it meant I could have you back." ~ Or, when Goblins put Simon in a coma, Baz isn't sure what he's supposed to do with himself. He settles for never leaving Simon's side.

Penny, Simon, and Baz are all hanging out in the shared room, taking a short break in looking for Baz's mom's murderer. Penny and Baz start talking politics, quickly leaving Simon behind in conversation. He's incredibly bored and tired of being ignored, begging for his friend's attention. Penny is more than happy to comply, and Baz even decides to help her out.

Our favorite couple must navigate all the craziness that getting married entails: shopping for rings, planning the ceremony, figuring out where the bloody hell they'll live... it's all well and good until they realize something isn't quite right. Fluffy, romantic, and just a l'il' bit angsty, this sequel will be the fairytale ending for the fairytale couple... that is, if they can make it through without losing their minds.
