I walked through the hallway, my eyes widened as I saw that brunette looking down at her textbooks at her locker. She looks oddly familiar, like I saw her or possibly had already met her. Her honey eyes met mine."Wait, it's you. You from the mall over the summer." She spoke. "Thats why you looked so familiar." I muttered as I put my hands in my pocket and stared at the tiled ground. "You know, stealing isn't exactly the nicest thing to do." The brunette closed her locker. The bell rang to signal it was time to part. She looked back once more and headed the other direction.

Roots in the Waiting is a devotional for the in-between seasons-when prayers feel unanswered and life feels stuck. Each chapter uncovers how God uses waiting not as wasted time, but as preparation. In these quiet stretches, He is growing roots, shaping faith, and drawing you closer to His Spirit. Waiting isn't empty. It's where God works deepest. --- 📌 Disclaimer This book is written from a Christian (Pentecostal) perspective and reflects the author's understanding, study, and interpretation of the Bible. Avari (Uh-VAR-ree) Shephard and Calix (KAY-licks) Lawson are two Apostolic Pentecostal young people living in Indiana. They meet at a state youth rally and everything changes from there. Avari is 17, and is the daughter of Austin and Rachelle Shephard, the pastors of Firm Foundation church. She has an older sister, Jennifer, and a younger brother, Caleb. They are close in relationship, and are heavily involved in their church. They are excited to receive a new Assistant Pastor and his family into their church. Avari has never met the family, so she is interested to see what they'll be like. Calix is 17 1/2, and his life has changed tremendously in the past few years. His mother, now Kary Smith, left his father for another man. His dad, George Lawson, has recently remarried. His new stepmom, Avery Lawson, is a good, Godly woman with a calling to ministry on her life. As a family unit they take on a new leadership role in a church they've never been to. His parents have met the pastor and his wife, but they haven't told him anything about them. As these two teens get closer, crazy things happen. Falling in love is not easy, especially not at this age. As everything gets complicated, can they pull through, or will it be the end for them? *this does not have cursing/inappropriate language or explicit scenes or content* :)

This is a collection of some of my Christian poetry, written over the course of over twelve years. I've gone through denominational changes, so that is reflected in some of my poetry. It contains sermons, analysis, prayers, thoughts, hymns, and psalms. I do base my Christian writings on the bible and biblical teachings. This is a Christian poetry book.

****** Every one has their own story. Nina, however, has never been one for the romantic, sappy ones. She still reads them, although they like to rip her heart out whenever she finishes. She falls in love with the characters and then wishes that those cliché things would happen to her. But that's the problem. They don't. Everyone looks at her differently than they do with others. And, well, that's because she is. She's a religious girl, living in a small town where everyone knows everyone. She doesn't get to have the luxuries of everyone else around her. But she doesn't want any of those luxuries they have. She knows she's following God in the way He wants her to live. She doesn't need the things of this world to be happy. People like her don't get to live in clichés. But once, just once, Nina might actually get to experience the romance that she's been dreaming of. This isn't your average love story. Everyone has their own story. Her name is Nina Delgado. And this isn't just a story about how she found love. This is a story about her walk with Christ, and how she found something more than just a relationship. She found hope, faith, and someone to grow closer to God with.
