It was supposed to be a routine mission, no more was needed than two Avengers and a couple of agents. That was until they uncovered an entire organization of criminal scientists and a 12 year old chained in a basement. Maya was the perfect lab rat, an unwanted and unnoticed orphan with an IQ to rival even Tony Starks. The price on her head was high and until the network that held her captive had been eradicated, she needed to be somewhere safe. Who better than Tony Stark? An intelligence that matched hers, a fortified tower, and also the only person that had been able to elicit a positive response from the girl. Maya is broken, traumatized, frightened, and guarded. She's terrified that at any second she'll be taken back to the basement. Tony is out of his depth, recovering from his own anxiety after Loki attacked New York, and determined to figure it out. He's just trying to stabilize her until the criminal organization is taken down and they find her a good permanent family. This is only meant to be temporary. So why is starting to feel attached? ~~~ In which Tony becomes responsible for a traumatized, genius, 12 year old girl. TW: Major child abuse and PTSD

Peter Benjamin-Edward Stark went missing on a Tuesday. For months the entirety of the New York police department, as well as anyone else the Starks could convince to join, searched for the tot. He was only three when he was taken and for four months, two weeks, and four days, Tony Stark and Pepper Stark (nee Potts) worried and fretted over their beloved child. Peter Benjamin-Edward Stark was murdered on a Friday. A ransom call gone wrong spelt the end of the child's life. The world grieved as the kidnappers gleefully told the devastated parents they'd find his body in the morning. They never did. Twelve years passed and the family was still grieving, and Tony Stark worked tirelessly to find his only child's killer and gain justice for his son. Meanwhile Peter Parker was having the worst day ever. He just wanted to help people but instead he gets stabbed. That's just his luck.

When Nat and the other avengers return back to the compound on the quinjet after a long meeting about the events of sokovia form the hours beforehand...everyone is looking forward to a long shower, clean clothes and a good meal...but those plans soon change when they realise they have A stowaway with them..what will they do and how will the team prevail Ships: Steve and natasha Tony and pepper Clint and Laura Wanda and vision Slight au: Pietro is still alive and bruce and thor are still at the compound after sokovia
