Percy and Annabeth broke up right before entering Tartarus (specifically after like chapter three in Mark of Athena or something) Annabeth was too afraid that if they were together that they would put each other in even more danger. They both know that they can't live without each other but refuse to give in. This story takes place right after Tartarus and the end of BoO. Though instead of being flung all the way back to camp, they have to fly all the way back to camp the normal way. And also Leo does not "die" like in the end of BoO. There is a lot of angst and it is a soft fic so I am sorry to all of you smut lovers.

Percy and Annabeth have survived the war against Gaia, but at what cost? Plagued by nightmares and physical impairments, it seems the only thing they have left is each other. Will that be enough? I wrote this because I was mad that Rick Riordan never really addressed the Tartarus trauma, and that we never got to really see them moving forward through that together. This book will be angsty (but have a happy ending don't worry) and will maybe follow some of the events of Trials of Apollo but probably not all of them I don't own anything all characters belong to Rick Riordan
