Still reeling from the events of The War, Saskia returns home to Mistrea with her family and tries to regain some sense of normality. But nothing is normal. Her home has changed, her people have changed, and she has changed.
And in every moment in which she almost feels sane, she's reminded of an event during The War that's made her question who she is.
She's never felt the need to know who her parents were, beyond people that left her to die. But now, that knowledge has never been more important. Because even if there weren't a very real and tangible threat to her life, prophecies about power and destiny shouldn't be ignored.
