Fourteen years ago, Perenelle and Nicholas had twins. Not the twins of legend. They eve checked. One had a black aura and the other had a pure blue aura. When Dr. Dee snatched them up, Scathach searched everywhere for her friends' kids. She eventually found them, and since their parents were on a mission, she found them a substitute family. Well, when that family and the twins are on vacation in San Fransisco, Ainsley, one of the twins, finds a book shop and convinces her stand-in-mother to take her in. And they walk in on a battle of aura........

Nicholas and Perenelle had a child. She had recently turned up and is what you would call 'distrustful and alone.' The twist is she has befriended some dead people and Mr. John Dee.
