Adora Sherman has always wanted to leave her stagnant home town. Nothing ever changes, and she thinks that this year will be no different. Until Coach Weaver shows up. At just 28, she's managed to take three separate cheer squads to the State Championships, and Adora has wanted this for forever. A cheer scholarship could get her out of here. Into the big cities. Onto the big leagues. Except that Weaver isn't a fan of Catra, their captain and top girl. And Adora's admiration for their new coach throws a spanner between the two, forcing them to revaluate everything they both stand for. AU loosely based on the TV show DARE ME on netflix.
