Lynn sets out to try and convince Joan to be her surrogate and Maya and Darnell try and offer some assistance by considering another candidate. Joan also receives an unexpected visit.

This is the first episode of the new series, written in book format. **Please read GIRLFRIENDS: NOW before beginning, this first episode of the series as the first book is the opening movie/book to the series. ** Thank you! This opening series focuses on Joan's daughter, Karolyn Waters, as Joan and Aaron are currently separated. Side Note: As I imagine what Joan's daughter would look like, I've decided to use a photo of Tracee Ellis Ross as a youngster, and it worked!
