At least, not in the way people expect. It is a collection of memories, letters, and silent conversations between a boy and every version of himself that survived another goodbye. From the first girl he met in Class 11 to the one he almost built a future with, every chapter carries a different name but the same question: "What if loving someone isn't enough to make them stay?" Somewhere between losing people, losing a watch bought with his first earned money, losing pieces of himself in mountain towns and metro stations, he begins to understand that the hardest person to choose has always been himself. This book is for anyone who ever confused attention with forever, waited for messages that never came, and still woke up the next morning with a heart willing to love again. Because sometimes the greatest love story is not about finding someone. Sometimes it's about finally staying with yourself.

Personal Essays by Filipino American author, Cecilia Manguerra Brainard, who was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines. Many of the personal essays in this book explore the author's Cebuano ties, including colorful accounts about her mother's political family, the Cuencos. The collection of 28 prose pieces also includes accounts about the author's life and travels outside of Cebu. This completed work is shared here in Wattpad. Enjoy. Brainard's treatments of writerly voice and left brain/right brain theory as it connects to writing are among the best available in today's writing textbooks. Her story examples cover a variety of story types, techniques, points of view, and historical as well as contemporary topics and themes.
