"Welcome to Moon-ridge," he drawled, eyes flickering between the tuxedoed man and the disheveled bride. "Newlyweds, huh?"
"Something like that," Alaric replied curtly. "We need two rooms."
The man reached for the registry. "Sure thing. I'll need your IDs."
Christina froze. "I-my purse... it's with my sister."
The man's grin widened, eyes narrowing. "One ID, One room, sweetheart. House policy. You'll have to share."
Christina shot Alaric a desperate look. He simply clenched his jaw and handed over his ID wordlessly.
"One room it is," the man said, sliding the key across with a sleazy wink. "Room 009 . Enjoy your wedding night."
Christina snatched the key before Alaric could reply and marched ahead. He followed silently, pretending not to notice the flush on her cheeks.
