In this world, everyone is born without a soulmate mark. When a person reaches a certain age, a mark appears somewhere on their body. The design is unique, and no two marks are alike. Somewhere in the world, another person receives the exact same mark but not at the same time. The mark is considered sacred-not because it guarantees love, but because it signifies a soul-deep connection that cannot be fabricated. Soulmates may become lovers, best friends, rivals, family, or even strangers who never meet. Society respects the bond regardless of gender. Many spend years searching for the person who bears the same mark. Others never look at all. This story is about how Vegas who despises anything that is not in his control and Pete who longs for soul deep connection.
