A Spider-Man in DC crossover story. Peter is flung into Gotham... ----- Loss, much like power or responsibility, is a defining word in Peter Parker's life. His parents, his uncle, his first love, his best friends, all of them lost to him. Each one shaping him into the hero he was meant to be. But there was still one thing he wasn't prepared to lose; himself. After a mission goes wrong, Peter is ripped from his home dimension and shot somewhere else entirely. With nothing but his costume and a heavy dose of nausea, he lands in a city called Gotham where he is greeted with a myriad of questions. Questions like: Who is Batman? What is the Justice League?? How does he get home??? And why are there so many blimps???? With no choice but to move forward, Peter must adjust to a new life on another Earth while attempting to wrestle with the very real threat he may be lost from his home world forever. Miles Morales, has questions of his own, namely: Is Peter alive? Where did he go?? And how does he convince Reed Richards to help look for him???

Peter knew that Peter Parker had to disappear if his universe had any chance of not imploding on itself. He knew this and he accepted it. It was an easy decision to make when the lives of his loved ones were at risk. He expected to be forgotten, to be Peter Nobody and Spider-Man. He had not expected to wake up in the body of an alternate version of himself, practically a toddler, homeless, and living in New Jersey of all places. He especially did not expect to have someone else along for the ride. He supposes he really should have expected the worst when Parker Luck comes into play.

Peter was expecting everyone to forget him. But what Peter wasn't expecting was to fall through a portal to another universe, let alone land on someone. But things get even weirder when he realizes that the person beneath him isn't just some random stranger; they look eerily familiar. Too familiar. More like wearing his face. And why do they both seem... smaller? As confusion turns into realization and they both think the same thing: Things just got too weird. Also on AO3

Gun shots sound in the distance, barely heard over the roaring thunderstorm, but they're there all the same. The ever present crime in this city doesn't even stop due to unfortunate weather, it seems. That's not Peter's problem, though. It hasn't been Peter's problem since the night he ceased to exist.
