Fear is society's biggest weapon - used to oppress, to hide, and to manipulate. The fear of oneself, however, is less of a weapon and more of a shield; a mirrored shield society uses to keep eyes down, to keep people from looking at their target, and to prevent them from destroying the fragile foundations of which it is constructed. People hide behind veils, but the veil doesn't just obscure the face - it obscures sight; to properly see the world around you, you must first allow yourself to be seen by it. They're all different, but they're similar in their differences - and they need each other whether they like it or not.
(Deeply inspired by an idea I already had and propelled into reality after I watched the video for M83's Midnight City)
