As many Sonic fans are aware, Sonic Forces didn't live up to our expectations. Barebones, linear gameplay, overly forced "nostalgia", and a story that felt extremely half-baked. That's why I've decided to completely rewrite and revamp the story of Sonic Forces in the alternate take of the game. I've gone through the game's script and made some very heavy changes to improve upon the story. (gameplay is a whole other thing, I'll leave that to modders). If you wanna see what Sonic Forces COULD have been, then feel free to jump into this What If Story. DISCLAIMER: All the following is my own personal opinion/take. Therefore, none of this is canon, and you are free to your own interpretation of the game's story. Sonic and all related characters belong to Sega and Sonic Team.

Eggman is back and has a new ally with him who managed to defeat Y/N Lilac The Hedgehog giving the mad doctor the chance to take over Remnant but the blue blur's friends and family banded together to form the Resistance. Time to take back the world.

Shadow would never speak to you unless if Maria wanted him to which only made it more clear to you the hard facts of reality. He was here to save Maria. Not you. Or at least, that's what everyone thought.

After they both sustain injuries and nearly get trapped in an ambush, Ava realizes her past is the least of her worries. A new evil is lurking in the shadows, and it's only a matter of time before it comes into the light. When it does, Ava joins her friends in the fight against the ensuing chaos. Will Ava be able to become the hero she wants to be? A new enemy is working alongside Eggman and the unspeakable happens. Sonic has been defeated and seems to be considered dead. The world has been conquered by the Eggman Empire and all seems bleak. Hope is lost. That is until Sonic's friends give rise to the Resistance; avenging the loss of their friend and taking back the world. Will they succeed? With the War finally over, it would be a time to Celebrate and rebuild right?...Wrong, Mobius is already on the brink of collapse and Metal Sonic plus Infinite knew it's time to strike, since their enemies would never know what's about to happen to the world. And this time reality will finally set in. (Dark AU)

Some incident has occurred...the world will never remain the same again. The badniks, the eggforces, the enemies that Sonic and his friends, practically everyone was fighting against from the very beginning, had suddenly took no orders from Eggman, probably because none of his machines even remembers him. With no one to command the machines, the machines all wander around and are forced to adapt to the environment and into the societies that feared and despised them. As this happens, some form of disease breaks out as these strange light cyan pollen like things starts to infest the whole Mobius, making any of the living organisms LITERALLY melt. The ones who are not affected by it are of course, the ones who can regenerate and the /machines/. A society where they are forced to work with the eggforces, or what they used to be to survive through an already melting world...like as if that's possible, right? Disclaimer: Since I am a new writer and new to the Sonic fandom still, I may write some of the characters inaccurately. I will try my best to put as much research into the characters as possible to aim for character accuracy. Due to that reason, do expect some slow updates as I want to give more care of this story as I do with the rest of mine. No ships or any sort of romance would be featured or added here due to me, myself as the writer is not comfortable writing that sort of topic. And of course, none of these characters (due to being an AU) rightfully belong to me, they belong to SEGA. These characters are just going to be altered versions of the originals. With the war finally over and Infinite being found Not Guilty of all the crimes he committed. He would need to find his place in the world now, but with the Phantom Ruby in his Possession everything should be okay for him.

The story of Sonic Forces in a new way. Eggman has defeated Sonic and finally won. As a result, the world was his for the taking. Heroes from all over the world band together in an effort to stop him and his new accomplice, a jackal with the ability to create life-like illusions. In this retelling of the story, you will join a young wolf who's joined the Resistance to avenge her brother and her best friend as she uncovers the dark secrets the jackal is hiding, a young hedgehog from another timeline trying to fix a problem he let blow out of proportion while aiding multiple countries, and a fallen hero who finds himself and others in a purgatory of sorts reliving their worst memories. This tale will be released in stories much like Sonic 06 where you follow three characters and their struggles. As more chapters are added, they will be placed in chronological order. Whether you'd like to read each story first or wait to delve into all at once is up to you. Just be sure to read through each story before the final chapters. The first chapter is a sort of what if scenario viewing the previous timeline. You can skip over it if you'd like. Will the Resistance rise or will they crumble and fall?
