Aya is the daughter of Pharaoh Atem and future ruler of Egypt. The King of Thieves, Bakura, wants the entirety of the royal family to pay for the events that occurred in Kul Elna and wants the throne for himself. When he discovers the existence of Aya, he plans to start with her. But plans, as well as feelings, often change.

"Do you know what to do, Amunet?" A voice as sweet as silk whispered into the young girl's ear. Amunet didn't look over her shoulder, but shifted uncomfortably on her bare feet before nodding her head. A soft hand touched her back and urged her forward. All eyes turned towards the girl dressed in transparent linen with her dark hair tumbling down her back and her violet eyes lined by kohl. Every movement caused the jewels on her wrists and ankles to dangle and shimmer in the light. She raised her head and found the Pharaoh's transfixed stare. Picture yourself being forced to go on a vacation to a land filled with sand and dust. The two things you despise the most in the world. Then also remember your flight fright, and as the cherry on the top you have to go with you're wussy twin sister and annoying cousin. The perfect vacation! But what happens when you accidentally get lost in the tombs of an ancient pharaoh somehow. Well it's just another fantastic hight of you're vacation and it gets even better through accidentally traveling through time and ending up in ancient Egypt. Yup you gotta love you're life.

Yugi, a young boy who was a servant for the royal family in Egypt, had stumbled upon the young prince with one of his teachers in the garden. Yugi was not allowed to befriend or speak with Atem unless asked or forced to. One day, Yugi was playing with some of the other servant kids until the young prince and his friend Mana were out in the field kicking some rocks. The young servant had not realized on how much he and the prince looked alike, the only 2 differences were that Yugi was way more paler and was not royal. Yugi had somehow gotten hurt, and this is where the relationship began. As his "friends" left him because they could not handle the crying, the caring prince and his friend rushed over to his aid. The servant just thought they'd help so none of their 'slaves' would be harmed and could continue working but that's not how Atem saw it. Later on things had happened to where the prince had ordered his father to keep Yugi in the palace, so the two grew up together until war began. For 3 years Atem had left.. Yugi hopes to see him soon someday.
