A confusing situation occurs to the two that causes not only their family rivalries to spark, but one of their own. Her husband and her son Philip were scoundrels and you wanted nothing to do with them anymore and your dad didn't want you around them. The two never properly introducing themselves refer to one another as Angel and Ace. When they accidently discover whom one another is, Philip tells Theodosia of his forced marriage to a woman he doesn't love. They make an arrangement.
