But for Cynthia Alden, nothing is ever that easy. She's the less popular cousin of Wendy Peffercorn, for starters. The Sandlot boys still don't know what to make of her, and the Tigers? They're worse. "It's like winter didn't even count. My whole life was measured in summers. It's like I don't really begin living 'til June." And then there's Jordan "silver spoon, golden rule, private school, never missed Sunday church" Phillips. Staying away from him was supposed to be the premise of Cynthia's entire life... right?
