The Van Der Lin Gang were pictured as the Robin Hoods of the west, robbing from the rich and giving back to the poor. But when a heist goes fatally wrong, they are forced to escape to the east, from the ever changing America that pursues law and order over the entire untamed West. One member is a Russian named Albert Bornslavi, the gang's sniper and is without a doubt one of the best sharpshooters in the west. Through him, we'll follow the chase that began the absolute downfall of The Van Der Lin Gang. But what will make of Albert in this large game of cat and mouse? Guess it's best you read and find out.

Dani Bloomberg wants nothing more than to leave her past behind, and Egmont College is the sort of place where she can do just that. As she enters her third year there, she's looking forward to another year of studying biology alongside her favorite professor, working with a trio of dolphins at her local zoo, and maybe getting her lab partner, Joyce, to finally notice her. Until Blake Pinkerton, the one person that she tried to forget, steps back into Dani's life. All at once, Dani's past and present begin to connect in ways that she never imagined. She's forced to think back to everything that happened during her junior year of high school: her Quiz Bowl team, her crunkcore band, and the destruction of one of her closest friendships. Their relationship may have fallen apart years ago, but with the help of her new girlfriend, Dani finally realizes that she's ready to confront Blake. Trigger warning: discussions of sexual assault. Last week, someone decided that the best comment they could make on one of my stories was to write "Read my new teen fiction if ur a 1d/5sos fan" (sic. And I really do mean 'sic'). I replied that I didn't really like either group, but if she wanted to write a "Madama Butterfly" fic where Pinkerton gets his comeuppance, I would happily read it. I further suggested that Suzuki could track Pinkerton down to exact revenge. It would have been an awesome tale of adventure, deceit, and revenge. This is not that story. This is what happened when I tried to write that story and things went in a . . . slightly different direction. A few warnings: First of all, this story does give away the ending to "Madama Butterfly". I don't want to hear you come complaining to me if you didn't want to know how it ends. Secondly, "Madama Butterfly" was written in the first decade of the 20th century, and has some . . . unfortunate racial implications. It's still awesome, but be aware. Thirdly, this is based on an opera. And it's about revenge. Expect references to adultery, bigamy, suicide, violence, and plenty of lies. Also, for those who haven't seen the opera, the American sailor is the bad guy.

In the spring of 1911, Marcus, a determined African American Pinkerton agent, arrives in Japan-a land of ancient traditions and a rapidly changing world. Tasked with investigating a rising tide of violence, Marcus is determined to prove himself, despite being a stranger in a foreign land. An unlikely bond forms when Marcus crosses paths with Kenji, a skeptical yet skilled shogun. Drawn together by curiosity and necessity, Marcus introduces Kenji to the power of a revolver, while Kenji shares the soul of the samurai with Marcus. Their friendship transcends cultural barriers, blending Western innovation with Eastern discipline. But when a gang of ruthless bandits terrorizes a quiet village, Marcus and Kenji must unite their newfound skills to protect the innocent. Their bravery earns them the respect of the villagers, but the challenges they face run deeper than any bullet can reach. A tale of brotherhood, resilience, and the clash of two worlds, The Pinkerton and the Shogun is a story about finding common ground in the face of adversity-and discovering that true strength lies in friendship.
