A short story about a pirate and a single mom

When the Pirate Captain loses Polly in a bet to some thugs in the Boston Harbor, he quickly retrieves Charles Darwin from the Galapagos to help rescue his beloved dodo. But Charles has never been to Boston, and has no idea where to start. The Captain had a feeling his scientist friend would think that, so he enlisted the help of Amelia Meriwether, a brash and tempermental young woman from Boston. At first, Charles and Amelia don't exactly see eye to eye, and try to find Polly their own way, but after getting each other out of a few sticky situations, the two unlikely friends form a bond.

This is going to be a bxb pirate type story, but I don't really know how I'm going to go about this yet so please bear with me.
