Fifteen-year-old Eric thought he knew the movie Cars by heart. But when he touches his living room TV screen during the credits, the glass ripples like water, and he is violently pulled from his world into theirs. The smell of stale popcorn is instantly replaced by the scent of high-octane fuel and burnt rubber.
Eric wakes up sprawled on the trunk of a bright red 2010 Dodge Challenger named Charla, only to discover a terrifying truth: in this dimension, cars aren't just vehicles-they are biological organisms.
The Rule of the Road:
There are no drivers here. The "cabin" of a car isn't a place for passengers; it is a sealed vault packed with pulsing organs, metallic veins, and a beating engine heart. With no way to sit inside, Eric is a "soft-body" anomaly in a world of heavy iron. To survive, he must become a "Rider"-strapped to the outside of Charla's trunk lid, holding on for dear life with nothing but a leather harness and a pair of industrial dent-puller suction cups attached to the rear glass.
The Family Secret:
As Eric navigates this dangerous new world at 75 miles per hour, he finds he isn't the only one with a connection to his old life. He discovers his grandfather, Jack, has been reincarnated as a massive 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge, retaining his human soul and memories to protect him.
But the reunion comes with a dark realization about his own parents. His mother is here, too-reborn as a sleek, safety-obsessed Infiniti M37. But unlike Jack, she has lost her human warmth, viewing Eric not as a son, but as "unsecured luggage" that drags down her aerodynamics.
The Journey:
Now, protected by Charla's Hemi V8 and Jack's muscle-car wisdom, Eric must endure a cross-country odyssey from the swamps of Louisiana to the Piston Cup in California. Exposed to the wind, the rain, and the aggressive "Alpha" trucks of the interstate, Eric isn't just a passenger-he's the most fragile component on the machine.
