Plaguedoctors Stories

A collection of the short stories I've written over the course of my life. Some of this will be drab I wrote in elementary school since I have yet to separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak. Please do enjoy

The plague was a devasting time for Europe, the last known case was in 2011, what are things that we could learn from the plague? NOT MY PHOTO.

Author's Note: This short story follows and derives inspiration from "The Plague Doctors" by Karen Lorde as well as the current global pandemic. Lorde's characters Collin and his daughter Maisie escaped from Pelican Island and began their new life on an island known as Corona Island, leaving his sister Audra behind to find out the various secrets behind the grey pox. Years have passed since Collin and Maisie left Pelican Island and Collin and his new wife even welcomed a baby girl. Since then, fortune has finally dawned on Collin. However, all of that would change in the next few decades when Maisie's little sister conceived Nyala. In writing "Don't Breathe", I was hoping to give a sequel to the open ended story "The Plague Doctors" and tie it into the current global pandemic with the new generation and a new killer virus that is similar to the virus that Audra was trying to fight. Nyala and her friend encounter "Tovid-20-Genisis" a genetically modified virus that has the potential to mutate into something physically monstrous. This Science-Fiction futuristic short story teaches the audience that sometimes viruses should not be tampered with or they just might stop you from breathing.

-Bnha Halloween Au- It was Halloween when every adult disappeared. Every house, jail, store and asylum was open. Then the whispering began, little voices in everyone's ears, no two people hearing the same thing... That's when the reality began to peel away, the sky lighting up with a grim orange glow as the world began to change right before everyone's eyes, the kids whining and clinging to the closest teen alongside them not understanding what was happening. The streetlights flickering as a rumble below the earth erupted, screams and shouts filled the streets before everything set into place..

The Bubonic Plague, more commonly known as the Black Death, struck Europe and Asia with a brute force, leaving thousands dead. Quite an interesting subject, eh? Yes, morbid, but interesting. (Very incomplete, I apologize.)

Kate, Michael, and Emma are adjusting to their family life and it truly seems there may finally be some peace. Little do they know, though the books are gone, the powers they hold are far from vanished. When Emma is kidnapped and forced to free restless spirits, the true battle begins. Old friends and new friends join them in the a ghostly fight.

Meet Nyx, born into a somewhat persecuted cult of plague doctors. From a young age, she was steeped in the mystical traditions and customs of her enigmatic community. Their underground existence, hidden away from the prying eyes of the world, instilled in her a sense of secrecy and caution. Nyx's life was a delicate balance between the shadows and the light, veiled by the cloaks and masks that concealed their identities. (heavily inspired by art from filibusterfrog)

England during 17th-century bubonic plague epidemic. Young herbalist Rosalynn Seward lives her peaceful life in a small cottage on the skirts of Eyam. Her life changes drastically when a plague doctor appears in the village looking for an apprentice who would help him stop the spread of the disease. Together, Rosalynn and the Doctor are roaming through England in search for an antidote while dealing with their own past and social prejeudices their will encounter through their journey. This light historical cottagecore love story combines some intersting facts about the plague doctors with some herbal recipies mixed with humor, mystery, and adventure.
