Nora Clark lives in the year 2750. Plastic pollution has reached an all-time high and the Earth has changed drastically; with its crimson skies and black water, the human race is facing an environmental collapse. They must vacate or fall victim to the Red Planet. For National Geographic's #PlanetOrPlastic contest.

Being a fisherman's son, he spends most of his time playing and exploring in the ocean. On one stormy night, when everyone is hiding inside their cottage, he finds a lonely girl by the roaring waves. An invisible force seems to draw him towards her, and no matter how hard he tries to resist, there is no way out. She's calling out for him. He needs to reach her. Her life is in danger. A story told from the view of a mermaid, as she watches the world around her die. STORY FOR A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CONTEST The aim is to bring awareness to the pollution of our oceans, and hopefully put an end to it.

After her unsuccessful attempts to bring awareness to the visitor for the beach in her home town. Mellanie decides to take things to the next level by giving them the fright of their lives. Will it be the fright of their lives or the fright of our lives? ************************************************************************************************** This is my entry in the #PlanetOrPlastic by National Geographic to bring attention to the global issue of plastic pollution.
