this is a short story featuring our planet at the mercy of plastic and other polluting substances. animals and humans alike are suffering from consuming harmful things and we have to raise awareness. do we choose our planet or plastic?

"No. We will fight back it's our world." Something created by us is gradually taking over the beautiful planet earth. Do we sit and watch while it destroys or we fight back? It's up to us to take back what belongs to us.

A story set in a future without oceans. This is my entry to the National Geographic x Wattpad writing contest. With this short story, I want to bring awareness of the devastations that we are causing to our planet. I 'Our greatest threat is believing that someone else will save our planet.'

It's important to take a small step than not walking at all. It's important to do something than nothing at all. Lets not take giant leap but small steps towards cleaning our HOME EARTH. BASED on TRUE EVENTS

Love the world and love yourself Planet or Plastic Submission #2

This is my entry for PlanetOrPlastic contest of National Geographic . It is a know fact that plastic is hazardous to the environment, yet for a few moments of luxury and comfort we are ready to toss away the well being and safety of innumerable creatures, the Eco-system as well as the future of our kids. Lets all make a conscious effort and reduce the consumption of plastic as much as possible. This is the least we can do.

As the ocean fills with plastic, Mira wants to make a difference. But nothing she does ever feels enough.

Did you know there is a patch of the Pacific Ocean so littered with plastic that, taken together, it would be at least the size of Texas? Learning this shocked me. I wrote The Eighth Continent on behalf of National Geographic and "Planet Or Plastic," imagining what would happen if all that plastic "invaded" the west coast of North America. This story follows a sea turtle, a young one. Follow the sea turtle as she traverses the plastic filled ocean she lives in.
