Plastic Beach wasn't a good time for any members of the band Gorillaz. 2D was skinny and wan, addicted to painkillers once more, and suffering occasional beatings from the band's bassist. The aforementioned bassist, Murdoc, was slowly spiraling out of control. He swore never to hurt anyone like this, but he couldn't stop himself. And he'd tried multiple times to off himself; it never worked. Russel was angry, but mostly just hurt... and huge. And Noodle... she returned to find the only life she thought she knew disturbed, changed beyond return. And their newest member, Cyborg Noodle... she was a robot with human emotions. During the filming of The Lost Cord, 2D comes across his notes he wrote while being locked in the cellar years back, The memories flashed like lightening.

after murdoc was arrested, y/n was required to the gorillaz production crew helping out on sets. she would help with wardrobe, makeup, lighting, you name it. after noticing the cute new crew member, 2-D tries his hardest to gain her attention and potentially get to know her better. but then ace, the new base player gets in am accident and isn't able to play anymore, who could help in these stressful times?

The others are shocked at the sudden debunking of Noodle's death, and things on Plastic Beach are only going to get a lot more hectic. Murdoc begins to loosen his grip on 2D's freedom on the remote island, and rivalry strikes quickly between Noodle and her cyborg counterpart, but they must ask fast as the attack on Plastic Beach draws nearer and nearer...

2D has had enough. But what keeps him from leaving?
