A NaNoWriMo novel inspired by Plato's Republic. Basically there are three social classes in this world - once you get separated into your class at the age of four there's no turning back. Caerlynn is a painter who somehow ends up working for the king himself because she knows things that she shouldn't. Alex is a messenger for the new kingdom and he's on official business - there is a strange army coming their way and the two kingdoms must work together. But he soon finds that the kingdom of Old Veridet needs more from him than just a message.
