Ever heard that you shouldn't put a vase on a piano? That's because the water could spill and make the wood swell. But, what if pianos could feel pain? And every molecule that touches them hurts. Well, enough about that, meet Rie. Rie Nakamura is a 16 year old piano prodigy, to the rest of the world that is, and that's because every time she plays, it feels like something is wrong with her music, but other people don't notice.They don't feel the "incompleteness" that Rie feels. So Rie stops competing, constantly playing at home, trying to figure out what was wrong with her music or possibly just her. Will Rie find what's "missing" from her music?

What she didn't expect was to come across an unconscious body covered from head to toe in red , drenched in blood and left there in such an unexplainable way. The falling drops of rain is a story of a young teenager, a pluviophile , an unfortunate victim of an incurable disease, the only true love of her life is the rain, the rain which she wants to be her only true everlasting companion...while she induldes her soul into the very process of loving and reduscovering her own self...
