Hilda Salcedo is a sixteen-year-old girl who has just graduated from high school, carrying nothing but what she can manage on her own. Raised in a poor community by an abusive mother who constantly chooses the wrong people over her, Hilda grows up learning to endure rather than expect anything better. At school, she is overlooked, dismissed, and treated as if her future has already been decided for her. On the day that should have marked a beginning, she is thrown out of her own home. With nowhere to go and no one willing to take her in for long, Hilda is forced to move carefully through a world that offers little help and even less certainty. She takes work as a household helper, saving what she can, keeping to herself, and learning not to depend on anything that can be taken away. She does not dream. She prepares. Between long days of labour and quiet nights of study, Hilda begins to build something no one else sees-discipline, endurance, and a way forward. When she comes across an opportunity to apply to the Philippine Military Academy, she takes it-not out of ambition, but out of necessity. It is structure. It is distance. It is a way out. With nothing to lose, Hilda Salcedo chooses the harder path. Not because it promises success-but because it gives her something she has never had before: A life she owns. And once she leaves, she does not look back.

Sinamahan ko lang si Freida. Hindi ako ang may ka-date. Si Freida at si Jonray had chemistry - you could feel and see it in the way they locked tgeir eyes and the way he made effort to see us. Ako? I was just introduced to his bunkmate, Julian. He's chatty, proper, and mysterious. Something about him made me want to try. We chatted for a week. I tried. I asked things, replied with interest, showrd up. Then their was silence. Then came the next invite - sa intrams nila. Freida asked for the favor. I came with her. And I saw him there. He just glanced. No wave. No smile. Not even a hello. In life, kailangan pala paminsan-minsan na ma-reject para magising sa katotohanan. Sapat na kahit minsan yung tratuhin kang hindi kailanman naging bahagi ng kwento. Ako si Rosalie, and here is my story.

Auden has always ended up getting involved with the wrong people, and one of those involvements resulted in Antisepticeye hiring him to create Hug-Bot. Auden and Hug-Bot have been struggling to find peace ever since, trying to find balance between bot's main objective to spread #PMA and help others, and the more nefarious secondary objectives that Antisepticeye demanded bot would have. This story starts after the events of the Journal, although might chronologically line up with later entries in the Journal. Hug-Bot haven't heard from its creator in a while, it's not sure where it is, and its database is full of corrupted data. It's been previously freed from its secondary objectives, and now it's on the verge of losing its main objective - positivity. [Trigger warnings] Robot/machine/A.I. sentiency, other triggers mentioned in the appropriate chapters.

a very important friend of mine is going through some rough spots right now but I know we'll make it out alive. I promise but for now I'll be right by your side, every step of the way. it's not just for my friend, it's for anyone who is going through a rough day or a rough week or month or year. I'll be there to walk you through it. just know that if I could hug the entire world at once to make everyone happy at once, I would. but I can't so this is the best thing I got.

This journal is the prologue to the Hug-Bot story, and follows the first few years since bot's creation. The majority of the entries refer to events that happened to the characters during roleplay and are meant to summarize the characters' lives up until the beginning of the story, although later entries could happen chronically during the story. PMA? Ever heard of that? Positive mental attitude, something that most people try to have all the time, to keep happy and positive throughout life's challenges. This was not something that worked out for me, however so I decided it was time for a change. A new attitude.
