And again... And again... Until things blow up.

Lacuna, a small town somewhere near the border of Oregon and California. Nestled in a valley of mountains too insignificant for a proper name. Maybe you've unwittingly stopped there for gas on a long car trip or maybe you've made a horribly wrong turn and found yourself turning on all the lights in your car and constantly checking your rear view mirror. Everyone knows however that something isn't quite right. Normally in the pacific northwest, UFO sightings, Bigfoot encounters, and local legends are commonplace and lead to nothing more than interesting interactions with crazed locals. Lacuna, however, is different. Missing persons, cults, shadowy corporations, ritualistic killings, bizarre monuments, and strange buildings litter the town and seem impossible to ignore.

The process of repairing one's self is a long and patient process. A husband and wife deal with a devastating trauma in their lives, struggling to live day after day. The burning of smoke in every orifice, the wails of the decrepit surrounding me. I find myself hiding within my own bones burying my humanity in the mere marrow of my awareness. Enshrouding my soul in the memories of my past life, the warmth of the sun, beauty in the wind, any crumb of my physical life I can devour I have but still I cling to every grain. The wails turn to a distant murmur and I feel as though I have finally reached my demise: I am filled with a calmness that brings me to tears, and then there's a song. A melody so beautiful I am breathless and I feel it. Finally...the kiss of a wave. I am dead at last! I have finally reached nirvana and it is the feeling of sand beneath me and the kiss of waves against my feet. At last.
