Words fall from our mouths And send ripples down our spines Words illuminate our mind A dark cave, directed by a single lantern Your words, decorate my body And toy with my mind Fluttering from your pursed lips with passion Words ignite expression of self Words say Words give way to another person's Thoughts Emotions Prayers Hopes Dreams Passions Words are humane Words ignite a fire in one's soul The written word Is an illusion The words are written on a page, but they are not... They take Leaps Bounds Flight They rarely stay on the page they are written on Instead they make small caves... Inside our minds Inside our hearts The spoken word produces flame Furious, controversial fire Thrown from one mouth to another Because, hands cannot catch flames... Words are immortal The read word, burrows itself somewhere deep inside The read word, is where knowledge begins Read words are memory Things we would rather forget stored away
