What is next in our life? Who knows?

This sonnet is written in iambic pentameter, which is a traditional meter used in poetry. It speaks about the quest for knowledge and truth within oneself, the importance of understanding the meaning of life and the shortness of it. The sonnet encourages the reader to seek the truth within themselves and find the meaning of the life they live.

I wrote all of my poems into an actual red book made around 1980 - somebody I knew was clearing out their house and I saved it from being thrown away. I fell in love with its immaculate blood-red faux leather covers and yellowed pages, and I diligently hand-wrote every sordid detail of every dark poem I'd written, once I thought they were 'finalised'. That little red book is now full, so I suppose it could be said to be a finished work. This book will include most of the poetry from my little red book, all of which centres around depression, hopelessness, unrequited love, love-dreams, death-fantasies, with SOME descriptions of gore, so please read at your own discretion. All of these poems were written by me. If you want to use anything from this anthology, just ask.
