It's a cruel world, don't you think? In a cruel world kindness is certainly an unsafe virtue. This cruel world fails to embrace the beauty of tender souls and then wonders why everyone turns cold? No matter what, you have to choose yourself, even when others refuse to. Choosing yourself is not selfishness, it's self-care. You are entertaining the wrong things with the wrong people because you are struggling with loving yourself. It's okay to take a break, a moment for yourself. It's okay to be selfish if it means discovering your power and happiness. It is not always necessary to keep all the doors open. Believe me, if you shut some doors, it is not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because they no longer lead anywhere. Things end. People leave. Hearts betray. Eyes pay. But life has to go on!
