A collection of all of my poems throughout the years, I've been meaning to make all of this into a small novel for the longest time but I have been too afraid of judgement or backlash of any kind, I frequently write about my own trauma and rarely write about anything else, so if you're sensitive to topics such as sexual assault, neglect, or parental trauma, please be mindful before taking a dive into this, I hope you enjoy :)

this book is simply a place where I can post all of the poems I write. most of them are pretty deep, and cover things people deal with in the day to day basis of life. talks about things that make most people uncomfortable because no one is brave enough to speak on their own vulnerabilities. well I am, I have been through a lot and writing poems has helped me heal immensely. I'm posting these with the hope it can help someone else.

Rise and fall of a "gifted" child

She Did Not Grow Old is a poem about the quiet changes a woman goes through when life becomes too heavy. It is about stress, motherhood, expectations, changing bodies, falling hair, and the painful words of people who forget that a woman is more than the way she looks. Sometimes, she hasn't stopped being beautiful. Sometimes, she is simply tired. This poem is for every woman who has ever been told, "You don't look as pretty as you used to." Maybe what she needed was never criticism-just a little understanding. About the Author - Lavanya Y. Rao I'm Lavanya Y. Rao, a new writer who finds stories and poetry in the emotions and experiences we often overlook. I wrote this poem because I feel that so many women in this world are constantly complained to or complained about-"You don't look as pretty as you used to," "You've gained weight," or "You've changed." But behind every change, there may be a story, a struggle, or a battle that nobody sees. I hope this poem makes you pause before judging someone by their appearance. Karan vs. The Tarka is a light-hearted, humorous poem inspired by a very real-and rather frustrating-experience. It tells the story of Karan, who finds himself in an unexpected battle with the powerful aroma of his neighbour's tarka. What begins as an ordinary cooking smell soon becomes a daily struggle of sneezing, escaping rooms, and trying to survive the next round of spices. Behind the humour is a simple everyday experience that inspired me to write this poem. I became quite sick because both of my neighbours essentially had the same cook, whose tarka was, unfortunately for me, not the easiest thing to live with! While she cooked, I would sneeze constantly, and afterwards I would often end up with a terrible cold. Instead of simply being annoyed by it, I decided to turn the experience into something funny and write a poem about it. About the Author - Lavanya Y. Rao I'm Lavanya Y. Rao, a new writer who has only recently started exploring the world of writing. I'm still finding my voice, experimenting with different kinds of stories and poems, and learning with every piece I write. This poem is one of my attempts to take a small, everyday annoyance and turn it into something readers can smile about. I hope you enjoy Karan vs. The Tarka as much as I enjoyed writing it. Rashi once kept a glass of water beside her laptop every day, never imagining that the same water would one day become the reason for her fear. A simple accident leaves her overwhelmed with panic, changing the way she sees something she once trusted. But sometimes, life teaches us that even the things we resent can still be the ones that calm us when we need them most.
