It is with great excitement and delight that we welcome you back to Versification 2026! With new ideas, structure and challenges, we are excited to see what this year holds!! Versification is a contest where we challenge the poet to write a new entry for every day of April. Additionally, it challenges poets to write in some of the unique forms of poetry in our daily challenges.

This journal is a collection of reflections-each offering a glimpse into the writer's diverse perspectives and inner world. Within its pages lie poems, stories, and passing thoughts, each expressing a moment of emotion or contemplation. Like a dandelion carried by the wind, her thoughts drift beyond reach, ascending into the open sky-hoping that somewhere, someone will read them, and understand.

This journal is a collection of reflections, each capturing a distinct perspective of the writer's inner world. This section, in particular, turns its gaze toward her dreams-those fleeting visions that dwell between reality and reverie. Here, dreams are embodied by the poppy flower: a symbol of beauty and transience, blooming gently within the quiet garden of the mind.

These poems are all for them: to relieve the aching, to stop the itching. In this way, I hope to stay a little bit longer and touch the hearts of people feeling the same way.

In Between Shadow and Bloom, I'm tracing the quiet spaces where becoming begins, those fragile moments suspended between who we were and who we might dare to be. Through a series of intimate, unguarded poems, this collection lingers in the soft tension between light and darkness: grief that softens into growth, longing that learns to breathe, and beauty that reveals itself in the most fleeting encounters. Butterflies drift through these pages not as symbols of escape, but of transformation earned slowly, painfully, and with grace. There is a stillness here, the black cat watching at the edge of the unknown, a bloom unfolding under a patient moon, reminding us that change does not arrive loudly. It gathers in silence. It waits. It listens. Tender and haunting, Between Shadow and Bloom is an invitation to sit with the in-between, and to discover that even in shadow, something within us is always reaching toward the light..
