The sea is a battlefield. In its wake it leaves words out of corpses of every version of ourselves that died in the war of living.

I've been keeping things which could remind me of you. The petals from the bouquet of jasmine you gave on our first date, your favorite flannel's button, the unused movie tix, the unsaid words, the pain you've inflicted. I've been keeping them hidden behind lifeless words.
