All Clara Harken's life has ever been is ballet, with her mom being a world renown ballerina and all. So when the pressure cracks Clara, and she throws her pointe shoes out the window, who are they destined to fall on? The most cliche boy in the book; Max Brewell. The boy with no cares, no worries, no responsiblities, and more importantly, not a lick of dance in his life. Naturally, she has to go after her shoes, and of course, she has to agree to go on a roadtrip with a complete stranger across the country. Right? Wrong. So, if she said no, how on Earth did she end up on the other side of the country, covered in paint, and stuck in a moter boat with no gas in the middle of Lake Michigan with him? Ask Marnie.

: I used to be happy. Now before you close this and discard it as some teenage melodramatic meltdown on paper, just set aside your cynicalism and listen to me. I used to be happy. Didn’t we all? Don’t you remember that wonderful, blissful innocence our childhood offered us? We hid under it like a blanket from the cold storm of harsh reality. And when the world finally decided we were too old to live under its protection any longer it tore the security away from our grasping hands and threw us into the bitterness. Because of the suddenness we become bitter ourselves and thus teenage angst is born. So do not disregard me because of my age or lack of uniqueness. My story is worthy of being heard, my life is worthy of recognition. Valerire Moore used to be happy. She was a good daughter, a great student, and an amazing dancer. But then, the night of her high school graduation, everything turned upside down. A year later Valerie, or "V" as people now call her, hasn't said a word to her family, declined her college scholarships, and hasn't stepped foot on the dance floor. All it took to change her world was one night, maybe that's all it will take to change again.

"Living in a big city, I guess I've always looked forward to seeing the light from the moon, between the floodlights and the lamps, even if its light isn't its own. A mere reflection of something else, it has a hold on me. Some people are like that, like the moon. They come and shine their light on you and sometimes they leave. But the moon? It won't stop coming out and shining in the dark each day, at least I hope it doesn't. Because the moon? It's magic." You travel, you see some mountains, probably even an ocean, and the same sky from a different continent and you suddenly know what to do in life? SURE. It works for Instagram posts and Facebook quotes but I completely, blatantly refuse to believe in these epiphanies. It all started with the stupid story I wrote for my English class and I'm not going to bore you with it. I mean, anyone can write a story that has a word limit of precisely 150-200 words. I'm just starting like this because it's a good place in my life to start my story. (NOT.) Join Charlotte Benton as she navigates a world full of friendship, heartbreak, books and dancing. And the occasional stumble. (She's clumsy, okay?)
