Thaddeus Gale lives alone with his cat in a cabin in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He never has visitors, no one has his phone number, and he likes it this way thank you very much. But, his pleasant routine is rocked when friend, former coworker, and amateur paranormal investigator Eliza Byrd tracks him down and ropes him into solving a weird murder in Monongahela National Forest. What will happen if he goes? And what's up with that black ooze in the woods? A tale of friendship, mystery, and Ulysses by James Joyce.

It is the 1960's in Point Pleasant West Virginia. Twelve year old Anthony Grizzle hears talk of a man sized creature around town. He goes searching for it but doesn't expect what will happen when he does find it.

With the school year returning, and the stress of life heavy over your head, it was a near miracle that you had scrounged up the money to visit Point Pleasant for the rather famous Mothman Festival. The drive was long, and the hotel bed felt empty, but both seemed irrelevant as you banded onto the tour bus the following morning. As the guide led your group through the TNT zone, peering into the dark door of a military storage igloo, everyone was faced with a mysterious noise from inside of the bunker- a deafening clash along the metal that startled the entire crew backward. It was dismissed as nothing, but being as curious as you were, and as much of a cryptid hunter you liked to think yourself out to be, it was clear you would investigate it later on your own- Disbelief rattled in your bones, but you were soon to find out that the legendary beast of this town was no myth made for tourism. Not only was the forestly spirit of bad omens real, but he knew you had seen him, and horribly so, so does the government. Will your screams be heard, or will they be lost in the mist as you find yourself falling from the world around you? Read on to find out. Eager for a good story for his Blue Ridge Chronicle he accepts the offer and finds himself facing something very frightening indeed.
