The remaining people were supposedly destroyed in a disaster, which was caused by a failed attempt to control these pokemon. Now the champions and descendants two twins named Whitlea and Blair (Leaders of Team Legend) now have perfected the mind control technology. A group of 12 kids from Vaniville Town meet with Professor Sycamore to get their first pokemon from him. While there is the elite four the Gym Leader System was terminated instead you challenge the elite four as you please.
