Hey everyone! For over a decade I have dreamed of writing an adult pokemon novel. I wrote something long, long ago and it was honestly awful. Since then I've read a lot! I'm currently inspired by the great Brandon Sanderson and pretty much read almost every book in his arsenal and really tried to take in the level of detail in exposition and story arch as well as character development. I've tried to apply his rules of magic to this story. I've been slowly creating and weaving together the origins, science, motivations and plot to one of my favorite anime/games growing up. I've always thought the concept of pokemon had incredible potential for an immersive mature story filled with crushing realism, beautiful twists, and hardcore action. I want to make the story where the origins of pokemon could be intertwined with the plot rather than the plot revolving around a world already filled with pokemon. The impact of these fascinating other worldly species mingling with humans on earth would change the world overnight. This book will take place following our beloved Ashe Ketchum though instead of being a ten year old boy on a journey around the world to catch em all, would be an adult with a strong bond to his companion, pikachu, who we all know and love. A story where they are both responsible for protecting each other. I aim to answer many, many...many unanswered questions, but with my own road map for how the journey comes to fruition. This novel however also follows Professor Samuel Oak. Oak has always been so important and it is my plan to see that he gets credit where credit is due. All this said I start this during the time of the original pokemon and the number of species will grow to that iconic one hundred and fifty-one as the series progresses. I haven't read the already existing young adult series in order to keep my ideas fresh and as close to an original Ashe as I can make a story people already know and love. I would love any feedback!
