High school sweethearts! Niki with Y/n, they're best friends and have always stuck with each other ever since 3rd grade. Niki, her best friend, has dementia, and surprisingly is still alive. He found out about this when he was 16, but never told Y/n about his sickness so as to not worry her. For his own sake, he always brings his yellow polaroid camera with him and takes pictures of every single event in both their lives.. At some point, because he thinks he doesn't have much time left, he proposes to Y/n and gets married to her . A year later, though, Y/n finds out about Niki's little secret and asks him about it, having a fight with him. He collapses and is taken to the hospital- growing weak. As an apology, Niki writes her a love letter and gives her his polaroid camera inside a small box. The box was full of the missing polaroids he's taken ever since 5th grade(up to now) that she thought she lost while moving many years ago.. He dies and hands her this box, wishing she'd be happy, feeling sorry for all the mean things he said during their fight, and that they'll meet in his next life.
