In the late 18th century, in a town known as Polperro, a family known as the Pembrookes flourished - being one of the most influential bourgeois family there. But they weren't the only ones, which often meant trouble. However, this story isnt just based on the family in general - this is based particularly on one. Robert and Sophia Pembrooke had 3 children - the oldest was called Joseph, the youngest called Nathaniel - and in the middle was Adaline Pembrooke. She was known as the beauty of the family, being young, slender with soft green eyes. And her life has been simple - but no one could have imagined the events that took place. Trouble seemed to follow her like a shadow. But without further adieu - Welcome to Polperro.

This story is a fanfiction based upon the British television show, the Syndicate season 3, which aired on BBC One in 2015. Please be aware that within this fanfiction, there is swearing, talks of child abuse and talks of sex and sexual activities. If your not a fan of this type of story, please don't read it, if it may make you feel uncomfortable. I don't own all the characters within this story, other than Charlotte, Thomas and Georgia and I do not own the story lines that are depicted throughout this story, I'm simply copying the scenes from the show and adding in my own parts here and there. Also I just want to say in advance that I am so sorry if I have butchered the Yorkshire/Scarborough accent, as I'm not to sure how to put it down in writing, so I apologise if your from that region and I've wrote things wrong. I might say I have been obsessed with Poldark recently so I thought I would try and interpret the characters. Diana Poldark was taken from her brother and father at the age of 8 and raised to become an assassin. But what happens when she returns at the age of 17 and everything is so different, most importantly she is different and has changed. This is story based off Poldark I've changed the names names and made it a modern day story Ross-Jake comes from a wealthy family unfortunately his father was the second son. So Jake decided to join the military to help pay to get a MBA in Business and Finance. Problem is Elizabeth- Misty his girlfriend decides to marry his cousin who already has the money and status without waiting. Francis -Heath and Peggy - Demelza. David - Dwight and Caroline is Cathy. The story is little different but the concept is the same.

Elizabeth Chynoweth have a little sister called Harriet Chynoweth but like to be called Harry,She nothing like Elizabeth. She does not get along well with her Mother.
