Penelope Featherington, a 31-years-old from Galway, lives in a cosy flat in Mayfair, with her five-years-old son Nikos Debling. His father- Pen's ex husb- Alfred Debling, is a geologist from Bristol, who left for a long expedition in Alaska. At Saint Anne's Primary, Colin Bridgerton, a 33-years-old- is the new substitute literature teacher, born in Mayfair. He share with his ex wife Marina, custody of their two children, Oliver and Amanda (8-years-old twins). Pen and Colin's first meeting comes at school, at the parent-teacher conference. Vampires can still eat human food with blood as their main food source if they expect to survive and compress their thirst. They can be a little crazy and aggressive if they don't consume blood for a few days. The better term to describe the behavior is 'feral'. Penelope Featherington finally faced her temptation to drink human blood after she meets with one of the brothers of her new human friend, Mr. Colin Bridgerton. Can she manage to suppress the attraction toward the man in terms of his blood and the feelings she felt ever since their first meeting?
