In her small corner of Belgium, Mona Turtureanu Marcov seems to have everything she could ever want: a happy marriage, a spacious home, and a devoted husband, Miroslav, a successful real estate magnate. Together, they lovingly care for their six furry companions and try to live their life as beautifully as possible.
Yet behind appearances, Mona carries a burning longing in her heart: to return home to Romania, to her quiet little town in Sălaj County. Although she lacks nothing in Belgium, her soul wanders through memories, and homesickness becomes her strongest enemy.
While Miroslav adapts effortlessly to a new world-mastering several languages and strengthening his career-Mona feels increasingly isolated. She sings on weekends in a karaoke bar and at a local restaurant, unable to find her place or make friends to ease her loneliness.
Even so, a deep and genuine love binds the two of them together, built on respect, patience, and the desire to keep moving forward. Their life is not perfect, but it is real, tender, and at times painfully honest.
