"Okay," Billy finally says, "I'll bite." His eyes shift slowly, lingering on the skin of my thighs not covered by my pajama pants. The way he's looking at me is so concentrated that I can't even make a joke about how he was just promising that he wouldn't sink his teeth into me. "What's your ultimate, unbreakable horror movie rule?" Something in my stomach twists. Maybe it's just embarrassment about sharing an opinion that they're likely to deem as laughable. Especially on a topic that matters so much to them. But if it was just that, would I care about how much closer Billy is than I realized? When did that happen? "Oh, she's getting shy about it," Stu teases, grinning in a way that's different than before. Sometimes I think they look at you like you're something to eat. Tatum's words flash to the front of my mind. I know she was joking, but my face still feels warm at the thought."Fine, but no laughing." Stu almost snorts. "That bad, huh?" I shoot a glare in his direction, but before I canshrink back, Billy lets his hand fall forward, fingertips brushing against my knee. "We'll be good, promise." "Okay, fine." I breathe, forcing myself to forget about the slight contact, "I think every scary movie needs a final girl." I drop my gaze, waiting for their ridicule. "You're right. What's a scary movie without a final girl?"
