Catra and Adora grow up together in the horde, with Adora and Glimmer both willing to step in the line of fire to protect Catra from Shadow Weavers abuse. Glimmer also grew up in the horde, when the King and Queen were exiled to Beast Island and presumed dead. The Horde occupied Brightmoon for almost two decades before a rebellion within its borders was able to recapture the kingdom and install a temporary rebel leader to help fight back against the horde until a new royal lineage could be chosen.
