The twenty-fourth of August, seventy-nine AD. The ancient Roman city of Pompeii is changing, and Aelia with her family are amid the chaos. Nobody knows where this catastrophe may lead them. Nobody knows why it is happening. But everybody knows that no matter how much they try, there is no escaping fate.
