Just when Olive Oyl got Bluto out of her and Popeye's lives, newcomer, Betty Boop arrives in town with designs on Popeye. Will Betty win the affections of the spinach-loving sailor, or will Olive put up a fight for her man?

It was another normal day for Stephanie to relax, until a mysterious legend got her attention, deciding to adventure to find the legend and to prove that there was such thing as the legend. But, not only the legend but a famous and well-known sailor named Popeye was attacked by a fearsome pirate only to be called, "Blackbeard" and his Olive was kidnapped by him and his goons, leaving him to die out in the sea. Can Stephanie, Popeye, and a few new friends and old friends go to Skull Island and rescue Olive from the fearsome pirate?

"oh damn, you dummy thicc", Lightning McQueen exclaims. Lightning McQueen was a lone car until this one piece of chicken came alive from another dimension. The chicken was also lonely and they started to form a bond when they were trying to send her back into her world.

During this cinematic year, I encountered the feature-length animatic for the cancelled "Popeye" film directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. While not strictly a film, the work and subsequent viewing experience was very close to earn a place in the 2021-2022 Film Journal, and so I had to add an entry on the topic.
