Dave, a young villager, has always wanted to break free of the chains that are his village-and, of course, Steve. Steve is supposed to be a hero to all villagers, but when Dave gets a look at him--blowing up his own village, the place he's lived all his life--he sees the true side of Steve. And that Steve is a real jerk. But the destroyed village gives away a strange, strong secret: a broken portal to a mystical place called the End. And once Dave learns about it, he'll stop at nothing to finally find the Ender Dragon and slay it...so that a villager, for once, can be fully and truly recognized as a hero.
