They tried to contain her. Perhaps they should have just killed her. Mara Averill was the type of problem vampires liked to solve quietly-a rare bloodline that should be catalogued, restricted, and locked away under the laws that govern monsters pretending to be civilized. Instead, she was claimed. Now, magic gathers at her command without force. And the blood that should make her prey is turning predators into something far more dangerous- devoted, and neither King Dominic, nor Lucien are prepared for what she is becoming. Mara does not burn out of control. She learns and adapts, finally beginning to understand exactly how power moves through a system that was never meant to let her exist. And when she is taken- they will learn what it means to lose something they were never meant to touch. ⚠️CONTENT WARNING⚠️ This story contains: Violence, blood, and supernatural injury Abduction, restraint, and power imbalance Vampire feeding and blood-related themes Explicit sexual content Addiction-related themes Coercive situations and intense predator/prey dynamics Psychological distress and mature themes This work of fiction is very much intended for mature audiences.
